Overview
Wireless 9-1-1 from your AT&T local exchange company is a public safety service that enables public safety answering points to obtain a call-back number and location information from mobile telephone callers.

Wireless 9-1-1 service is currently being implemented in conjunction with local public safety agencies and wireless carriers, to give cellular and PCS phone users access to the same 9-1-1 and other emergency services available to citizens calling from "wireline" telephones.

The public safety agencies will receive a 9-1-1 call, along with the caller's mobile telephone number (a.k.a. "the call-back number") and data that can aid in providing location information, either the cell site/sector that is processing the call, or the latitude and longitude coordinates of the calling phone.

9-1-1 Solutions for Premises Based Exchange (PBX) Systems

Overview
Enhance your technology for effective emergency services

9-1-1 solutions for Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems help you provide the exact location of a 9-1-1 call to a public safety dispatcher when someone dials 9-1-1 from a private switch (PBX) or Centrex station.

The E9-1-1 database provides Automatic Location Information (ALI) to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) when someone dials 9-1-1 from a private switch or Centrex station. For private switch customers, the service provides the most current address and location information for stations that operate behind the switch. For Centrex customers, the service allows you to identify the physical location of stations in the database.

Benefits
- Accurate Information Storage - Allows you to update valuable location information in the 9-1-1 database

- Caller-Specific Information - Specific station and location information in the 9-1-1 database provides emergency response units with precise information helping save time

- Reliable Location Information - Provides rescue teams with the exact location of 9-1-1 callers when used to update records with current information

Requirements:

For the system to operate, the customer must have a private switch (PBX) or Centrex business phone system. An AT&T services team can perform station reviews and build the initial database for an added fee in some areas.
